Intro

Wounded Warriors Shall Not Lament Slaughtered Civilians

And the carcases of this people

shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven,

and for the beasts of the earth;

and none shall fray them away.

My bowels, my bowels!

I am pained at my very heart;

my heart maketh a noise in me;

I cannot hold my peace,

because thou hast heard,

O my soul, the sound of the trumpet,

the alarm of war.

Destruction upon destruction is cried;

for the whole land is spoiled

Go not forth into the field,

nor walk by the way;

for the sword of the enemy

and fear is on every side.

They shall die of grievous deaths;

they shall not be lamented;

neither shall they be buried;

but they shall be as dung

upon the face of the earth:

and they shall be consumed by the sword,

and by famine; and their carcases

Both the great and the small shall

die in this land: they shall not be buried,

neither shall men lament for them,

nor cut themselves, nor make

themselves bald for them:

A swift and certain annihilation through mounted infantry

Every one turned to his course,

as the horse rusheth into the battle.

Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

They shall lay hold on bow and spear;

they are cruel, and have no mercy;

their voice roareth like the sea;

and they ride upon horses,

set in array as men for war against thee

and such as are for captivity to captivity;

the young men shall die by the sword;

their sons and their daughters

shall die by famine

For death is come up into our windows,

and is entered into our palaces,

to cut off the children from without,

and the young men from the streets.

Therefore deliver up their

children to the famine,

and pour out their blood

by the force of the sword;

and let their wives be bereaved

of their children, and be widows;

and let their men be put to death;

let their young men be slain

by the sword in battle.

I will bereave them of children,

I will destroy my people

since they return not from their ways.

eat the flesh of their sons
